If you've ever witnessed a Northern California rainbow, then you know of their magnificence. Large arches of vibrant color that stretch from one corner of the city to the next. Rainbows are the sun's reflection off the mist of a rainfall. And, it seems the more turbulent the storm, the more brilliantly the rainbow emerges.

Remember the "honeymoon phase" of your relationship, when everything was shiny and new? Always looking on the bright side, always giving the benefit of the doubt. If he was late picking you up, you smiled and looked for the justifiable excuse. If a new friend asked to borrow money, you gave, generously and without hesitation.
