"We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee." Marian Wright Edelman
Do you ever feel like you are rushing around aimless in the dark? Like you are running blindfolded with your hands outstretched, hoping that you don't crash into anything that will break or at a minimum leave a bruise?
"It is the ability to choose that makes us human." Madeleine L'Engle
How often do you find yourself saying I “should” do this or “have” to do that? If you are like most people, “should” and “have to” are the condiments of your every day language. Essentially, you are using guilt to motivate yourself, or attempting to.
"While we have the gift of life, it seems to me the only tragedy is to allow part of us to die whether it is our spirit, our creativity or our glorious uniqueness." Gilda Radner
In our busy lives, we seldom take time to let our inner creativity flow and we are so busy nurturing and caring for others that we forget what makes us unique and special. How do you know when you are following your bliss? You may have an idea of what your bliss might be. If not, try thinking about it this way: it is the thing that you think about doing that makes you feel the most exited and the most afraid all at once. It’s uncomfortable to think about it, but deep down you know that part of you might die if you don’t try.
Life coaches talk a lot about disempowering habits, don't they? Things like procrastinating, gossiping... smoking, overeating, and all of those behaviors that don't serve us. Disempowering habits are like instant gratification. They may not lead you to long term satisfaction and confidence, but for a moment, you can feel better. Why?
