Self Exploration and Expression through Mandala Making for Women

Mandala, Sanskrit for "healing circle", has been used for thousands of years for spiritual exploration and self discovery. Mandala Making is a powerful medium for self exploration that combines meditation, art and symoblism to connect with your inner knowing in a profound way.

This Fearless Challenge offers the opportunity to free yourself from the restrictions of your adult mind and relax into the flow of yourself and the moment. The creation of art can trigger feeling "exposed" or not good enough, self judgment and comparing ourselves to others. Susan will coach you through letting go of your expectations and will support you to fully engage in the Mandala Making process through mindfulness, laughter and discussion.

The evening will begin with a group introduction and a brief mediation. We will explore use of symbolism, the creative meaning of animals and plants, and the power of the elements, the seasons and the four directions as Laura teaches you how to create your multi-media Mandala using paper collage, stenciling, dotting and more.

About the Artist, Laura Rice:

Laura’s artistic talent includes painting- both watercolor and acrylic, collage and mosaic. Laura loves to work with bold color, patterns, symbols and written messages. Her artwork provokes a sense of inspiration and connection to Spirit. Laura’s artwork has been featured on the cover of the YWCA Women’s Calendar as well as several small galleries in Eugene, Oregon.
